A Committee to handle cases of Gender Based Violence, Child Defilement and abandonment/family related complaints and provide psycho-social support to survivors has been constituted by the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatimah Momoh.

The Committee is expected to report directly to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

The Committee, known as Case Management Committee is to among other things see to the intake/engagement of cases, Assessment, planning and implementation, coordination, Monitoring, Advocacy and Evaluation.

Inaugurating the Committee in her office in in Lokoja the Honourable Commissioner called on the members to ensure professionalism in the discharge of their assignment.

Hajia Fatimah Momoh urged members to put away all rancour and acrimony and work towards fulfilling given assignment with all their hearts.

According to her, all cases must be handled with care noting that as committee members they are not judges that passes judgement but ensure that the work is done with all decorum.

She charged them to work hard and be good ambassadors of the Ministry at all times.

In an acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr Mark Olufemi promised on behalf of the committee members not to disappoint the ministry but work towards achieving set objectives.

Other members of the committee include; Mrs Olorunrayetan Titilayo, Musa Helen, Hauwakulu Mohammed Kabir, Amin Hajarat, Zhuya Manasseh Paul and Omorayewa Abiodun.
