The Relief and Rehabilitation Presidential Committee has handed over the phase II of the flood hostel project in Lokoja to a new contractor in preparation for the 2025 impending flooding as predicted by both NIMET and NHISA respectively. The handover took place today 8th August ,2025 at the project site in Wada Flood Estate, Lokoja.

The Federal Government’s representative, Mr. Onimode Haruna, advised the new contractor to deliver a quality job that will be durable and habitable for displaced flood victims.

The contract papers were signed on behalf of the State Government by the Executive Secretary KOSEMA Alh Mouktar Atimah along with the representative of the Relief and Rehabilitation Presidential Committee Mr Haruna Onimodi and the contractor, Engineer Muhammed Ibrahim.

In his handover remark, the Executive Secretary Alhaji Mukhtar Atimah, admonished the contractor to do a standard job to make a name for himself. Mukhtar showed appreciation on the Federal Government for this laudable and timely initiative. He assured the Federal Government and State Government that once the project is completed and handed over , the state shall take proper care and maintenance of the facility.

In his remarks, the contractor, Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim, assured the State Government that he will deliver a quality project and on time.

Those in attendance during the ceremony included Alh Jibrin Ibrahim, Special Adviser on IDPs to the Governor and the Special Adviser on Federal project to the governor.
