The Federal Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCDA), with support from Engender Health, has launched a comprehensive training program on Hormonal Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) for Nurses. This initiative aims to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to improve reproductive health services and family planning options. The training was declared open by Mr. Steven Momoh Aziz, Permanent Secretary, who represented the Honorable Commissioner for health, Dr. Adams Abdullazeez Adeiza.
This initiative underscores the commitment to improving reproductive health services and family planning options.

The training brought together 25 Nurses and 25 Medical Record Officers from various facilities, providing them with hands-on experience and comprehensive knowledge on Hormonal IUDs. The event is being closely monitored by key stakeholders, including Dr. Onimisi Abdullahi Ajayi, representing the Executive Director, two representatives from the Federal Ministry of Health, and one representative from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA). Their presence underscores the importance of this training in advancing healthcare delivery.

By investing in the capacity building of healthcare professionals, this training program is poised to improve the quality of reproductive health services, particularly in the area of family planning. The collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Health, Ministry of Health, SPHCDA, and Engender Health demonstrates a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare outcomes and promoting the well-being of individuals and communities.
