The State Coordinator for Nigeria for Women Project Scale-Up (NFWP-SU), Pst. Mrs. Esther Ameadaji, PhD, has paid a working visit to the newly redeployed Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Acharu Okpanachi.
In her welcome address, Dr. Ameadaji congratulated the commissioner and commended her warm reception. She introduced the NFWP-SU program and briefed the commissioner on progress made prior to her appointment. Key activities mentioned included the recruitment of project staff at the state level and in selected local government areas. She explained that the program aims to improve the livelihoods of women, institutionalize Women Affinity Groups, and promote women’s economic empowerment.
In response, Hon. Okpanachi welcomed the State Coordinator and her team, pledging her unalloyed support. She declared her readiness to work for the state’s development. She thanked the former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for laying a solid foundation, and praised Governor Usman Ododo for trusting her with this opportunity to serve.
The commissioner reaffirmed her commitment to serve while urging for honesty, transparency, and humility. She also expressed gratitude to Dr. Ameadaji for updating her on the progress of the project.
Dr. Ameadaji, in turn, appreciated the commissioner’s attentive ear and expressed optimism about their partnership and presented the Project Appraisal Documents to the commisioner
This visit reflects a strong commitment to advancing women’s development through strategic empowerment efforts that enhance economic opportunities and strengthen support systems for women across the state.
