Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTCH) Osara has recently obtained approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to introduce six new courses: Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT), B. Radiography, B. Agric. Agriculture, B. Eng. Agricultural Engineering, and LL.B. Law.
This approval marks a significant milestone for CUSTCH, enabling the university to offer these programs starting from the 2024/2025 academic session.
The accreditation was granted following the expert panels’ comprehensive resource verification visit to evaluate the university’s human and material resources preparedness for establishing the proposed academic programs.
In a letter addressed to the management of CUSTECH, Mr Abubakar Girei, the Acting Director of Academic Planning for NUC, communicated the commission’s decision and stressed that the approval only applies to full-term programs.
To offer part-time courses, CUSTECH must, however, submit a separate request to the commission for further consideration.
Governor Usman Ododo has been instrumental in advancing the education sector in the state.
Under his leadership, CUSTECH has experienced remarkable growth and expansion, emerging as a leading science and technology education institution.
The approval of these new courses underscores Governor Ododo’s and the university management’s dedication to providing students with a diverse and high-quality education that aligns with the demands of the contemporary world.
The introduction of programs such as MBBS, DPT, and B.Rad. Radiography, B.Agric. Agriculture, B. Eng. Agricultural Engineering, and LL.B. Law are expected to not only attract more students to CUSTECH but also contribute to the growth of the medical and agricultural sectors in the country.
