Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has solidified his legacy as a beacon of peace and security in Kogi State. His decisive actions in bringing peace and harmony back to Bagana, a community plagued by conflict for over a decade, exemplify his steadfast dedication to the well-being of his constituents.

The turmoil in Bagana, stemming from clashes between the Agatu people and suspected herdsmen from neighboring Benue State, had left the community in disarray. Despite its proximity, the previous administration under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) failed to address the crisis, leaving the people of Bagana to endure hardship.

Governor Ododo, however, has rewritten the narrative. Through strategic interventions, he has restored tranquility to the strife-torn community, fostering optimism for a brighter future in the Omala Local Government Area. The establishment of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Bagana, a security unit tasked with upholding peace and order, underscores his unwavering commitment to security.

Governor Ododo’s people-centric policies have reignited hope and confidence throughout the state, positioning Kogi as a hub for socio-economic advancement and investment. His administration has placed a premium on security, infrastructure development, and peacebuilding, showcasing a well-rounded approach to governance.

Formerly displaced residents of Bagana, who were once compelled to abandon their ancestral lands, are now gradually returning. They have conveyed their appreciation to Governor Ododo, vowing to collaborate in ensuring the enduring success of his initiatives.

Conversely, the previous PDP-led administrations’ inaction and lack of resolve in addressing the Bagana crisis have faced widespread condemnation. Their failure to furnish adequate security and assistance to affected communities has left a lasting scar on the region.

Governor Ododo’s proactive leadership has not only restored peace to Bagana but has also set a precedent for effective governance
