In continuation of proactive preparedness towards impending flood, Kogi State Flood Disaster Response Team led by the Executive Secretary, Kogi Satate Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA), Alh Mouktar Atimah, embarked on advocacy visit to National Orientation Agency (NOA).

The advocacy visit, which was conducted in Lokoja also witnessed presence of relevant stakeholders which included the Special Adviser on Emergency to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Muhammed Shuaibu; as well as Special Adviser on IDPs to Kogi State Governor, Hon. Jimbo; and Kogi State Fire Service delegation.

According to the Executive Secretary KOSEMA, we are directed by the workaholic Chief Servant, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to ensure effective mitigation of anticipated flood. By collaborating together, the stakeholders can leverage their strengths and promote flood’s sensitization at the grassroots and community mobilization network.

Responding, the State Director National Orientation Agency, Mr. Edogbanya Patrick, appreciated the Flood Disaster Response Team for the visit to his office.

He further stressed that this visit created a new chart way for robust synergy, bringing together diverse expertise, resources and perspective to mitigate impending flood.

In similar vein, the Flood Disaster Response Team visited the State Coordinator New Map, Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi Abbas.

During this visit, Atimah emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration to effectively mitigate the impending flood being predicted by Nigerian Meterological Agency.

While making his remarks, the State Coordinator New Map, Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi Abbas, thanked the team for the visit, and assured them of New Map’s readiness to collaborate with SEMA for effective flood disaster mitigation. He pledged continued partnership committed to common goals.
