In a bid to further strengthen the relationship with the health Care facilities across the state, the Executive Secretary, Kogi State Drugs and Medical Supplies management Agency, made a Courtesy call on the management of Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja.
The Executive Secretary, Pharm. Salamat Onize Yunusa said that the visit was for familiarization and
Collaboration with the management of the institution.
She noted that the collaboration is crucial at this time because, His Excellency, Governor Usman Ododo is committed to improving health care services across the state.
Pharm. Salamat highlighted the Agency’s “Vision and Mission,” which includes Governor Ododo’s mandate to provide quality, affordable, and accessible drugs and medical consumables to the people of kogi state.
Speaking further, she emphasized the importance of working as a team, this, she said, will enable the state to meet up with the federal government agenda on “Sector Wide Approaches” ( SWAp)’ hence , meeting up with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum performance indicators of which a ,”Unified Single Supply Chain System” in the state must be practiced
The Executive Secretary also emphasized the need to safeguard kogi state residents from fake and adulterated drugs, which can only be achieved through patronage from the agency.
In his response, the Acting Chief Medical Director, Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Dr.Oluseyi Bamidele Folagbade, thanked the Executive Secretary and his team for the visit.
The Acting CMD who acknowledged the contributions of the agency to health Commodities delivery across the state promised a robust partnership with them.
The highlight was the presentation of a total quantity of 2500 (two thousand five hundred) pieces of 1mg sterilized single-use insulin syringes to be shared freely to patients.
