Kogi To Promote Special Needs Sports

Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Idris Musa who today,  received the Board members of Kogi State Deaf Sports Association in his office, appreciated their effort towards the development of Deaf Sports in the state.

He gave the assurance that his office would coordinate and bring together people with special needs especially when it comes to participating in sports.

The Commissioner further assured the members of government support and consideration in the area of sponsorship in further sporting activities.

He disclosed the ministry would henceforth begin to consider the Association in the next National Sports Festival.

Earlier, the Ag. Chairman of the Association, Mallam Husseini Kabiru Omele appreciated the Commissioner forgiven the Association the opportunity to meet with him,  stating that the Association has never enjoyed such privilege in the past.

Husseini Kabiru Omele further assured the Commissioner of their commitment to winning medals for the state Deaf Sports when allowed to participate in the next National Sports Festival.

The Commissioner then constituted a three-man committee to look into the challenges of the Association and the committee members are to work together with the State Director of Sports.
