The people of Dekina and Bassa Local Government Area Councils have been enjoined to support the grassroots achievement of Governor Yahaya Bello administration.

The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo stated this during the fourth edition of the GYB Town Hall Meeting held in Ayingba, which comprised of Dekina and Bassa Local Government Councils.

While enumerating some of the notable achievements of GYB’s administration, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo said that the reason why the initiative of the Town Hall Meeting across the State is to let the people at the grassroots know about the governance of GYB.

He noted that the government  needs to listen to the people to know which areas they need improvement and to better their life style in all sectors, adding that the GYB administration has done a lot and the people need to know about them.

In Education, he said the Governor has renovated some of the schools in Kogi State to give it an excellent touch and has established some new tertiary schools like the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Osara.

In health Care delivery GYB constructed and renovated Hospital across the state including Teaching Hospital in Ayingba and Reference Hospital Okene and so much has been done in hospitals renovation.

In the area of environmental development, GYB administration has try to reduce erosion manance to its greatest minimal and to ensure that Kogi East is empowered with electricity, the Governor has started operation Light Up Kogi East and it is his wish that when completed all areas in Kogi East will have power supply.

Hon. Fanwo disclosed that the administration is bringing hope to the people by improving the lives of the great people of Kogi State, saying that in the area of security all hands must be on deck to ensure that Kogi people area secured.

He stressed that security is not meant for government alone but is everyone’s business because it takes the citizens to report to the right authorities if they notice any abnormalities in their localities

He added further that the people of Kogi State should be more vigilant, while empahsising that the people of Dekina and Bassa Local Government Areas should continue to support the government to ensure security in their localities.

“Kogi State has been rated as the best state in terms of security but much more needed to be put in place to ensure  that Kogi State is save” he added.

Earlier in his welcome address, by the Executive Chairman Dekina Local Government Council, Hon. Shaibu Isaq welcome everyone to the Town Hall Meeting and appreciated the giant developmental strides of the present administration.

He commented the Town Hall Meeting, adding that itis a good initiative of the Governor that would bring governance and  development to the grassroots.

Hon. Isaq Shaibu appealed to the governor to do more in the in the area of road construction and other areas that effect the people.

Addressing the people of Dekina and Bassa Local Government Area, the Ejeh Dekina who was represented by the Ogohi of Anyigba, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abu Shaibu Okolo appreciated GYB’s administration for uplifting and upgrading of Traditional Rulers in the 21 Local Government Areas in the State, adding that the image of the governor will be giving more support in his presidential race.

The Traditional Ruler appealed to the government to create more empowerment for the youths and women so as to enable for them contribute positively in the society.

The Ogohi of Anyigba HRH, Alhaji Abu shaibu Okolo thanked the Governor for the Infrastructural development in Kogi East especially in the area of roads, education , health and agricultural development, urging him to do more so as to boost his quality mandate.

The Youth Leader Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim appreciated the Governor for the involvement of youths in his administration and he has done well to many lives.

Mr Ibrhaim urged the people of Dekina and Bassa to give the Governor the necessary support in achieving better results for all citizens and he appealed to the governor to construct the Agojutu  Egboji road.

The Divisional women leader in Dekina, Mrs. Adishetu Labaran also pointed out that the GYB’s administration has improved the lives of the women, thereby making them independent.

High Light of the event is the presentation of kola by Ogohi of Anyigba, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abu Shaibu to The Commissioner for Information and Communications Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, which aymbolizes unity among the people of Kogi State.
