Fanwo Harps On GYB’s Stride At The Grassroots roots


The Commissioner for Information and Communications Honorable Kingsley Fanwo, has expressed his profound joy over the rapid development Kogi people are experiencing especialy the people at the grassroots.

Hon. Fanwo expressed his joy during the second phase of the Town Hall meetings held in Okene, the Headquarters of Okene Local Government, which included three Local Government Areas: Okene, Okehi and Adavi.

He said the GYB administration has left no stone untuned in order to bring development to the masses and to better the lives of his people.

Hon. Fanwo also added that a lot has been put in place in areas of Security, Health Care, Agriculture and Water Supply among others. He is happy over the level of work being done at the Referral Hospital in Okene, adding that when completed is going to be a masterpiece which will serve the people of Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

Responding, the Commissioner of Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar S. Ohere enumerated some of the infrastructure being put in place by GYB administration adding that Kogi State is one of the fastest growing States in the country.

He pointed out that as part of his commitment towards health care delivery in the state, Governor Yahaya Bello has upgraded the school of Nursing Obagede to a College of Nursing and Midwifery to tackle the healthcare challenges in the state, in order to boost education and reputable healthcare personel that will take over all the hospitals that are being built and also reconstructed across the state.

Earlier, the Commissioner of Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar S. Ohere had a stopover and inspected the level of work being done at the site of Kogi State Referral Hospital, Okene. He expressed his satisfaction at the level of work done so far, saying that it is up to the standard of GYB’S expectations.

The Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area council, Hon. Abdlraheem Ozovere Ohiare in a chat with journalists commended GYB for the initiative of the Town Hall meetings across the 21 Local Government Areas in Kogi State adding that it shows the love of GYB to the people at the grassroots. He expressed his dismay that GYB has done a lot but the people are not aware of what the Governor has done and it is the responsibility of the media to let the people know of these notable achievements of the Governor. He also made an appeal to the Governor to create a district for the people of Owodo in Okehi Local Government Area to enable them demonstrate their franchise, appealing to the people of Kogi central and the good people of Kogi State at large to support the Governor in becoming the next president come 2023 Presidential Election

In his appreciation the APC Youth Leader Okene Local Government Mr. Obogana Mohammed appreciated his Excellency for establishing a youth friendly government across the board and wishing that it would be sustained. Mohammed equally appreciated and thanked both Commissioner of Information and Communication Hon. Kingsley Fanwo and the Commissioner for Works and Housing Engr. Abubakar S. Ohere for taking time to brief them about the State of affairs in Kogi state.
