The people of Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala Federal Constituency has commended the paint developmental strides of Gov Yahaya Bello in the areas.
Speaking at a town hall meeting organised by the State Ministry of Information and Communications, shareholders from the area, expressed their unreserved appreciation to the Governor.
Speaking on behalf of the Traditional rulers from the areas, the Onu of Ankpa, Alhaji AbdulMalik Umar said it would amount to being an integrate if they do not appreciate Gov Bello.
He appreciated the Governor over the road construction in the areas, adding that the efforts of the Governor is largely felt that sector.
While commending the effort of government in the light up Kogi East project, the Royal Father however lamented the slow pace of work, likening it to the spread of millipede.
He said at this pace, the needed positive impact would not be felt, and called on the Governor to rejig the project.
He also appealed to the Governor to rehabilitate Ankpa -Abejukolo road and that of Anpka-Imane road, pionting out that these road are in a very deplorable state.
He added that if urgent steps are not taken Abejukolo and Imane would be cut off from Ankpa and called for urgent attention.
The spokesperson of the youth, Mr. Samson Okpanachi commended Governor Bello for empowering the youth, adding that zealousness of the Governor in youth development in the state is a pointer to his ability to govern the nation.
He, however, called on the Governor to do more for the youth as they are the future of the nation, while reiterating the need to rehabilitate Ankpa- Abejukolo road.
Speaking for the Women, Mrs Iko-ojo Omachoko commended the Governor for the empowerment of the women folks.
She appealed to the Governor to remember the market women in the area of empowerment.
She lamented that most intervention programs of governmental do not get to the rightful persons.
She particularly disclosed that the trader moni is not getting to them, appealing that government should deal directly with the market leaders.
Responding, Kogi state Commissioner of Information and Communications, Hon Kingsley Fanwo who noted that the power of the people is greater than people in power, commended the Onu of Ankpa for his frankness and boldness in speaking out for his people.
He assured the royal father and all that spoke that he would take their messages back to the appropriate authority.
