HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO PAYS A CONDOLENCE VISIT TO BRIGADIER GENERAL ABU ALI (RTD) OVER THE DEATH OF HIS SON LATE LT. COL MUHAMMAD ABU ALI
His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Ayoade Arike and the Chief of Staff, Hon. Edward Onoja pays a condolence visit to Brigadier General Abu Ali (Rtd) over the death of his son late Lt. Col Muhammad Abu Ali who died at the hands of terrorists at Mallam Fatori on the 4th of November, 2016.
The Governor expressed deep sadness at the death of Lt. Col Muhammad Abu Ali. He said the late Lt. Col Ali lived a life of sacrifice and died a hero. He opined that plans are underway for Kogi State Government to immotalise the late Lt. Col as well as ensure that his family is supported by government adding that in his individual capacity, he will also support the young family Lt. Col Ali left behind.
He prayed that the sacrifice of the officer and men of the Armed Forces will not be in vain. In no distant future, terrorism will be a thing of the past. He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed men and women of the Armed Forces and protect those at the battlefront.
The Governor directed that the Ministry of Works should ensure that the road in Bassa be immediately rehabilitated up to Dekina as an appreciation for the sacrifices of Lt. Col Muhammad Abu Ali. He said building a bridge across River Niger from Bassa to Lokoja is capital intensive and so he will not be able to do something on that in the immediate future.
