Three of it’s boxers, Celestina Ekele, Taiwo Sikirata and Shogo Anioluwapo, having put up a great fight all won bronze medals in their categories.
Reacting to this feat, the boxing Coach, Uluko Dan Ekele, said his boxers had a good outing even though they were not able to get the gold medal.
He promised that the boxers would perform better in future competitions.
The Director Sports Development in the State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr David Ogazuma congratulated the boxers for winning bronze medals.
Also speaking, the Kogi State Director sports council Elder. Adejoh Akowe described the performance of boxers as impressive, saying the present administration under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo was committed to the growth and development of sporting activities in the state.
Speaking shortly after the game on behalf of the Boxers Celestina Ekele thanked the state government for the opportunity for them to be part of the competition and promise to improve in the future competitions.
Meanwhile Team Table Tennis and Wrestling are still in the race of giving Kogi more medals.
