In accordance with the Kogi State Development Plan 2024-2056, Shared Hope And Prosperity, and the commitment made by the Chief Servant of the State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, to elevate Kogi State to new heights of performance and success, this promise was fulfilled at the commissioning of the office of the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State in Lokoja on Wednesday, November, 2024.
Previously, the office complex of the SGS had become dilapidated, with a worn appearance and white paint that had turned brown due to the harsh Lokoja weather.
Recognizing its strategic importance to the State Government, upon assuming office as the No. 1 Chief Servant of the State, the governor took immediate action and awarded a contract to Ridge Print Limited for the complete remodeling of the SGS office complex in April 2024.
The remodeling was meticulously executed, with the exterior painted white, the interior off-white, and new furniture installed.
During the commissioning ceremony, the Governor emphasized the importance of providing civil servants with a conducive working environment to enhance service delivery. He stated that the remodeling was part of a larger plan to improve workplace standards in the state.
Governor Ododo highlighted that the timely payment of monthly salaries reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of the people.
He commended the State leader, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his vision and dedication to advancing the development of Kogi State. The Governor also expressed gratitude to the SGS for her hard work, patience, and loyalty in serving the state.
Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D., the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SGS), expressed appreciation to the Governor for taking the time to commission the renovated office complex.
The event was attended by members of the State Executive Council, top political office holders, and civil servants.
