Kogi State Water Board



                               ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURES


The Board operates under the Supervision of the Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development. The Honorable Commissioner in charge of the Ministry also supervises the Board.

a.       The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is normally appointed by the Chief Executive of Kogi State. This consists of people from the private sector, representative of the ministry as well as the General Manager of the Board. The Board of Directors formulates policies for the Board’s operations.

b.      The Management
The Board’s management comprised of the General Manager, who is the Chief Executive of the Board, and the Heads of Department. There are five functional Departments as follows:-

i.Administrative Department - This department is responsible for the general administration and legal matters.

ii.Finance Department - It is responsible for the Board’s Account and Stores.

 

iii.Mechanical and Electrical Department -This is responsible for the installation, operations and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical works and plants and equipment.

iv.Design and Construction Department - The department is responsible for survey, design, construction and supervision of capital civil works including ground water development.

 

v.Services Department -It is responsible for the supervision of all the zones for the operation, maintenance and water quality control in all existing water supply schemes in the state.

The Board has a total number of eight zonal offices spread across the state, each of which is headed by a zonal Engineer. There are also several area offices under each zonal office headed by area officers.
