A Bill for a law to make provision for the establishment of Kogi StateDirectorate of Science and Technology Development was enacted by the Kogi State House of Assembly and of Authority of same came to force on October 3rd. 2005. Directorate of Science and Technology is a unit under the Governor’s Office
A. The Governing council for the Directorate
I. The Chairman who is the Governor of the State or his accredited representative.
Other members are:
II. The Honorable Commissioner for Finance
III. The Honorable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice
IV. The Director General, Directorate of science and Technology as a Member and Secretary

The Directorate has the following three main Departments;
a. Department of Administration and Finance
b. Department of Science and Technology
c. Department of Engineering
d. Any other related department that may be found necessary.

Each Department is headed by a Director.The Directorate which was established in the year 2005 was headed by:
