Kogi State Teaching Service Commission by Edict NO 9th of 1995 1 Nov. 1994 I. The Edict establishing this body read thus,There is hereby established for the state a body called “KOGI State Teaching Service Commission” which Shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession And a common seal and shall power to sue and be sue In its corporate name.

The Commission shall consist of ten members, namely;-
• An Executive Chairman
• Two full time members
• Two part-time members
• State NUT Representative
• Ministry of Education Representative.
• Ministry of Finance Representative.
• ANCOPSS Representative as Ex-officio member
• Secretary.

The members shall be appointed by the Executive Governor, on the recommendation of the Commissioner, the Chairman of which shall be an educationist of wide experience of not less than 10 years in post primary institution.
