Kogi State like every other States in the Federation is administered by a democratically elected Government headed by the Executive Governor. The two other arms of Government that complement the Executive arm the State House of Assembly headed by the Speaker with 25 members to form the Legislative arm. While the last arm is the Judiciary headed by the State Chief Judge. Theses three operates interwittily thus, the administration of the State is easily carried out. The Legislative arm is concerned primarily with making of laws for the Executive to implement while the Judiciary is the interpreter of the laws as made by the Judiciary arm. For administrative convenience, Kogi is divided into three Senatorial Districts i.e East, comprising the Igalas, West, made ip of the Okuns, Lokoja and Kakandas and the Central made up of the Ibiras.
