Kogi State has two distinct seasons in a year,they are the wet and dry seasons. The wet season spans between middle of March and October. While between the months of October and March, the state experience the dry season, during this season the air is dry with temperature missing up during the day. The state has an average maximum temperature of 34.50 c  and an average minimum temperature of 22.80 c and its annual rainfall is between 1016mm and 1524mm. Lokoja the state capital is generally hot all year round.
