Kogi State is heterogeneous in nature with the Igalas, Ebiras and the Okun Yorubas forming the major ethnic groupings. Smaller ethnic groups are also abounding in the state. These include Bassa-Nges, Bassa-Kwomos, Okoros, Oseyinros, Egbura Koto and Kakandas.In spite of the diverse ethnic groupings, the people shares common culture features, as shown in their dances, dresses, festivals, linguistic traditions and cultural norms. The state is greatly endowed with rich colorful festivals. These festivals and ceremonies include Italo, Egbe, Apanigbe Fishing Festival, Emidin, Ovia Oses, Ekuechi, Ebe, and Igila Ofifi festival.
