since the creation of kogi state in 1991, four Millitary Administrators and two civilian Governors have administered the State. They are Colonel Danladi Zakari from September, to December, 1991, Prince Abubakar Audu from January, 1992 to November, 1993. Colonel paul Omeruo December, 1993 to August 1996. Others are Colonel Bzigu Afakiriya, August, 1996 to August, 1998 and Colonel Augustine Aniebo, August, 1998 to May 1999. Prince Abubakr Audu was sworn in on May, 1999 for a second tenure, which ended on May, 29th 2003. Alhaji Ibrahim (Ibro) came on board on May 29th 2003 for his first tenure and returned for a second tenure on 29th May, 2007 till date as the second Executive Governor and the sixth Governor to govern Kogi State since inception of the young and vibrant State.
